ONE OF MANY, AND YET SPECIAL
Madame Bato
Madame Bato lives in rural Senegal. She is part of a women's cooperative, processes hibiscus, and was one of the first to work with our solar dryer. Her cooperative adopted it, integrated it into their daily work, adapted it, and is constantly working with us on improvements.
"The solar dryer saves us a lot of money and time. This allows us to produce much more and still manage our other tasks."
Producer. Entrepreneur. Enabler. And she is not alone.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Not created at a desk
Women's economic independence is not a given. In many parts of the world, they lack access to education, capital, and markets. Their work often remains invisible, their opportunities limited. We do not accept this.
That's why we founded afrea: over months on the ground, through discussions and collaborative work. Not with handouts, but with real, sustainable business opportunities. Because when women are economically independent, everything changes: families, communities, entire economic systems.

OUR MISSION
To make women visible as a driving force for sustainable development and food security.
Our afrea products are designed to be produced fairly and sustainably, contributing to the economic independence of women. By providing access to knowledge, networks, and technologies, we work with you to support economic opportunities and highlight the role of women in global commerce. At the same time, a holistic concept focuses on expanding value chains, creating jobs, and building a regulated consumer base to actively combat food waste and empower women. The goal is not to cultivate more food, but to work more effectively with existing resources. Women are integrated into the entire value chain – from production and processing to distribution. We aim to combine enjoyment, sustainability, and social impact in a modern product world, demonstrating that responsible food choices can become the new standard in everyday life.
A new standard with impact, enjoyment, aesthetics and community.
